Glass Jar Picture Frames

GlassBottlePictureFrames

This is such a quick, simple, and inexpensive (read free!) project that really looks quite stunning once it’s all put together.  I love decorating my home with simple and unique items, but I hate spending money on cheaply made, mass produced decorations.  So when I saw this idea for glass jar picture frames, I knew that I had to do it!  It’s simple, it’s unique, and I didn’t have to spend one penny for this project!

To Make Your Glass Jar Picture Frames

Supplies:

  1. Pictures
  2. Glass jars (saved from peanut butter, applesause, salsa, etc. An assortment of different styles and sizes looks better than using all the same)
  3. Ribbon (optional)

Assembly:

I soaked my jars in a sink full of hot, soapy water overnight to remove the labels.  The next morning they came right off.  Any residue that was left from the glue was easily removed with some warm water and a scratchy pad.

Once the jars are clean make sure they are completely dry, simply fill them with assorted printed pictures.  You may have to trim some of your pictures to get them to fit in the jar properly.  I only ended up having to trim one of mine, and only because it was a 5×7 to start with.

Decorate your jars with ribbon if desired.  I had some autumn-like ribbon (leftover from another project) that I tied around the tops or bottoms of my jars.  Since I was using this colorful ribbon, I decided to do all black and white photos to let the ribbon colors stand out.

These are so versatile, and the pictures can be switched out so easily that you can change them as often as you like! I love how mine turned out, and I can’t wait to add more to the collection!

These make great, inexpensive handmade gifts!  They can be so personalized and the recipient will LOVE that you made them yourself!
