On Recognizing The Good Times

the good times

I listen with slight irritation as my son sings his ABCs at the top of his lungs while he is supposed to be napping... I'm sure any minute, he'll come out of his room and ask me to tuck him in again.      These are the good times. Half-asleep, I swoop my baby girl out of her crib for the 3rd time in one night so she can fill her belly with Mommy's milk...again.      These are the good times. My husband is working overtime again this week. He does what he has to do to make sure his family is taken care of, but I wish he didn't have to work so much.      These are the good … [Read more...]

How I lost 5″ off my waist without doing crunches (and why you might have a pooch you can’t get rid of)

This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for your support! So some of you may know that I just had a baby in January (read the home birth story here). That was our second baby, and our first was born in the summer of 2010. Ever since the birth of our first baby that summer, I have had a tummy pooch that I just could not get rid of! Our Baby Girl’s Home Birth Story: Part 2

This is the second and final part of our baby girl's home birth story. If you're just joining us, you can read Part 1 here! After much talking and convincing from my husband, I finally (reluctantly) agreed that he could call our midwife. After getting off of the phone with her, he told me that she was going to start getting ready and would leave her house in about 30-40 minutes.  That meant that we still had a good solid hour (at least) before she would arrive. The next hour went by very quickly for me.  My contractions were as intense as ever at this point, and I wasn't getting much … [Read more...]

Natural Homemade Carpet Freshener {At Keeper of the Home}

Natural Homemade Carpet Freshener

By nature, I am not a clean freak. Don't get me wrong. I like everything to be clean, neat, and tidy, but I am not one of those people who just loves to clean. (On a side note, do those people really actually exist? Although, I don't find it particularly thrilling to clean my house, there are certain things that I like to do to make it more enjoyable. This homemade carpet freshener is one of those things. Hop on over to Keeper of the … [Read more...]
